Michael O'Brien and Alice Walsh RIP
Of your charity, please pray for the repose of the soul of Michael O'Brien, our dedicated altar server and parishioner, who died peacefully, fortified by the Sacraments, on 13th August 2024. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Pray too for his family and loved ones who grieve his loss. Pray also for the repose of the soul of Alice Walsh, the mother of our parishioner, Michael. May their souls rest in peace.
St Mary Magdalen - Temporary Church Closure
Following the incident last Sunday when a small area of ceiling plaster became detached, we have had to close the church until a survey can be carried out and any necessary remedial work undertaken. We thank the Lord that no one was injured when this happened.
The church will reopen as soon as we can do so safely.
Thanks to the support and understanding of St Mary Magdalen School, we will celebrate the 11am Sunday Mass in the school hall. Access to the school hall will be via the playground off Spring Street.
5pm Sunday Mass will be celebrated in the parish hall next to the church.
There is no Friday evening Adoration or Mass until the church has been reopened.
Pray for the reopening of our parish church.
With every blessing,
Fr Rod
